beginnings

I’ve finally cast on for the latest Solid Sock mystery KAL (only 6 weeks behind!). Not sure I’ll finish them by the end of the month, but it looks like a fun pattern. I cast on in hopes of distracting me from my misery at the death of my external hard drive, which houses all of my music and photos. I’m still hoping my little heart out that it can be resurrected. Anyone know anything about corrupt hard drives and damaged NTFS boot sectors?!

I’ve also started knitting a rabbit, although she doesn’t look like much so far.

I haven't knit socks yet. I am looking forward to seeing what the rabbit will look like.

Socks are a bit addictive once you get started! I have to confess, the rabbit has stalled slightly since I cast on the socks :P
Ooo I would love to knit a rabbit, will be interested to see how you get on and if it's suitable for a beginner like me!

It's the Ysolda Sophie pattern! It looks pretty straight forward. I'll let you know when I get stuck in a bit more :)
ooh... are the socks toe-up? Looking good!

They are! It's not my preferred sock construction, but I'm always up for the practice!
Gorgeous color for those socks!

Thank you! It's my hand dyed. It almost came out a disaster, but I salvaged it and now I love how it turned out!
Love the colour of the solid socks, that's a beautiful looking yarn. I'm all about socks right now, already planning my next ones ;)

Aren't they so addictive!? It took me a while to get into sock knitting, but now I love it!
I like the color of the sock. About the hard, I don't know what to say, I don't wan't to give you false hope, and since I am not a geek I barely know anything about this kind of things, but I heard stories about rescued data from a damaged hard drive, so it is possible. I'm sorry this happened to you.

Aww, thanks. I'm going to try and take it somewhere for repair tomorrow. I really hope it can be fixed, I don't know what I'll do if all my data is lost!
Love your photos! Awesome. The purple is outstanding, can't wait to see next week's post when the sock has grown more.

Thanks! I've managed to knit quite a bit more since I took that photo. It's quite a quick knit so far!
Have fun with the socks! I love that colour.

Thanks! I always have fun with socks :)
Love that shade of purple you're using. Looking forward to seeing your progress on your rabbit. As you know, I just love bunnies.

Thanks :) Might be a while before there's much more progress on the bunny, I keep getting too distracted by socks!
Oh, I'm sorry about your harddrive! It was a bad week for computers all around. My Dad's died too. He didn't have knitting to console him though?

Yikes! Must be something in the air. Hope your Dad didn't lose too much data, it's always such a pain when computers go wrong. At least knitting does take the edge of it a little :)
"I've started knitting a rabbit" ... that was a surprising sentence. It looks soft and squishy so far. We're quite overrun with rabbits this year; can I send a few your way?

Oh please do, they're adorable creatures! They do tend to breed rather prolifically though :)
